Korea's Logo Design Updated

Dynamic Korea logo.GIFThe Korean government has redesigned and updated its public relations logo and the slogan "Dynamic Korea".

Working with Interbrand, the consulting firm that produced the previous logo in 2002, the government polled a wide range of individuals and organizations in order to arrive at the final design.

The country's governmental agencies will begin to use the new logo to promote Korea's national image abroad. The logo and slogan will be used on government documents and other public relations media for major international events, including the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the APEC leaders meetings.

The new, more modern design is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Korean taegeuk "yin and yang" symbol. The design expresses new national images of change and innovation, high energy and high-technology, and self-confidence - the country's vision of a dynamic future.

With the letter "A" as the central pivot point, the letters of the word "DYNAMIC" gradually and symmetrically become larger as they move out toward either end of the word. This represents Korea's desire to reach out to all corners of the world. In addition, the red and blue colours of the taegeuk pattern symbolize the present and future aspirations of the Korean people to win popular international support and achieve national prosperity.
