Application procedureThe ETP 2009-2010 can accommodate up to 45 participants in Japan and 15 in Korea. The European Commission will first check to see if the applications meet the minimum requirements for the candidate and the sponsoring companies. The selection process will comprise the following steps: - After submission of the application, the Commission will carry out an eligibility check with the assistance of a Human Resources company. In case of unclear elements in the application, this consultant might require additional information from the candidates.
- The most promising candidates will be invited to interviews and tests in Brussels. If the candidate resides in Japan or Korea, interviews can be carried out by videoconference. Interviews will be carried out in October-November 2008.
- After the interview, the Commission will select the successful applications. The results are expected to be communicated in writing to each candidate in December. A waiting list is also forecasted.
- Finally, participants will sign a "grant agreement" with the European Commission for the duration of the ETP executive training, which will start in March 2009.
EU supportThe ETP is free of charge for the selected candidates, being an EU fully financed initiative. In addition, ETP participants will receive a European Commission scholarship of € 24.000 during the 2009-10 training cycle (paid in four instalments). On top of that, sponsoring companies are expected to make an additional contribution to living expenses while maintaining ongoing contact with the participant throughout the duration of ETP.
